Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your registration for and participation in championships and tournaments operated by VELA Tour, and your use of the velagolftour.com website. By registering for a VELA Tour event or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Player Eligibility
Players must meet the eligibility requirements published for the applicable championship, provide accurate and complete registration information, and register in the correct classification (Professional or Amateur). VELA Tour reserves the right to verify eligibility, request supporting documentation, and adjust or cancel any registration that does not meet event requirements.
VELA Tour further reserves the right to refuse, revoke, suspend, or deny participation, in any current or future event, where a player's conduct, history, or representations are inconsistent with the integrity, reputation, or competitive standards of VELA Tour. Such determinations remain at the sole discretion of VELA Tour.
Entry Fees
Entry fees vary by championship and player classification. Current entry fees are displayed on each tournament registration page prior to registration and payment. All entry fees are quoted in U.S. dollars and remain subject to the payment, withdrawal, and cancellation policies described below.
Registration Status & Payment Timing
Your registration will be placed in Pending status after submission. Registration is not immediately confirmed. Payment will be processed 21 days before Round 1. Your place in the field remains subject to eligibility review, field capacity, and successful payment processing.
Field Limits, Waitlist & Approval
- Fields are capped and filled in order of registration approval.
- If the field is full, players may be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot opens.
- VELA Tour reserves the right to approve, decline, or revoke any registration.
- If scheduled payment fails, the registration may be cancelled and the spot released.
Tournament Rules & Player Conduct
Play is governed by the current Rules of Golf as adopted by the USGA, together with any Local Rules and Conditions of Competition published by VELA Tour. Players are required to follow the VELA Tour Code of Conduct at all times on-site.
Equipment
- Distance-measuring devices are permitted; slope features must be disabled.
- Any equipment prohibited by the Rules of Golf is not permitted in competition.
Dress Code
Collared shirts (or approved athletic golf shirts), tailored trousers or golf shorts, and soft-spike golf footwear are required. Denim, athletic shorts, cargo shorts, tank tops, and t-shirts are not permitted on the course or in clubhouse areas.
Caddies, Spectators & Carts
- Caddies are permitted subject to host-club policies and must comply with the Code of Conduct.
- Spectators are welcome and must remain in designated areas and follow staff instructions.
- Players must ride in a golf cart during championship play; walking by players is not permitted. Caddies may walk alongside players as appropriate.
Course & Weather Conditions
Play may be suspended, delayed, shortened, or rescheduled at the discretion of tournament officials due to course conditions, weather, safety concerns, or other operational circumstances. Round scores may be reduced or the format modified as needed to complete the competition.
Schedule Changes, Postponement & Cancellation
VELA Tour may modify the schedule, format, venue, or field size at any time. If an event is postponed or cancelled by VELA Tour, refunds or credits will be handled per the Refund Policy.
Force Majeure
VELA Tour is not responsible for delays, postponements, schedule modifications, venue changes, suspensions, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Such circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Wildfires
- Flooding
- Earthquakes
- Government action
- Public health emergencies
- Labor disputes
- Utility failures
- Natural disasters
- Other unforeseen circumstances
VELA Tour reserves the right to modify schedules, formats, venues, or event operations as reasonably necessary to protect player safety and preserve the integrity of the competition.
Tournament Committee Decisions
The Tournament Committee administers each VELA Tour championship. Decisions of the Tournament Committee are final, including decisions regarding:
- Rules of Golf
- Local Rules
- Eligibility
- Pairings
- Tee Times
- Pace of Play
- Scoring
- Penalties
- Player Conduct
- Competition Administration
Withdrawal, Cancellation & No-Show
- More than 24 hours before Round 1 — $100 cancellation fee.
- Within 24 hours of Round 1 — $200 cancellation fee.
- No-Call / No-Show — $200 fee, plus potential future-entry restrictions.

Media Release & Promotional Rights
By registering for and participating in any VELA Tour event, each participant consents to being photographed, filmed, interviewed, livestreamed, recorded, and otherwise captured throughout all tournament activities, including practice rounds, competition rounds, awards ceremonies, and related on-site events.
Each participant grants VELA Tour permission to use their name, image, likeness, voice, golf swing, interviews, tournament performance, biographical details, and other event-related media, and grants VELA Tour a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to reproduce, edit, distribute, display, and otherwise use such content for promotional, editorial, and commercial purposes.

- TikTok
- YouTube
- Email Marketing
- Digital Advertising
- Print Advertising
- Sponsor Promotions
- Tournament Promotion
- Editorial Coverage
- Press Releases
- Historical Archives
- Future Marketing Campaigns
- Any official VELA Tour media or promotional materials
Participants understand and agree that they will not receive additional approval requests, notification, review rights, royalties, or compensation of any kind for these uses.
All photographs, videos, interviews, livestreams, broadcasts, and other media created by or on behalf of VELA Tour during tournament activities remain the sole property of VELA Tour or its authorized photographers, videographers, media partners, and contractors. Participants acquire no ownership interest in such media.
Spectator Photography
Spectators may capture photographs or video for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise restricted by VELA Tour or the host facility. Any commercial use, resale, broadcast, or distribution of such content requires the prior written consent of VELA Tour. This provision does not limit, reduce, or otherwise affect any of the media rights granted to VELA Tour above.
Competition Results, Player Information & Public Rankings
By registering for any VELA Tour event, players acknowledge and consent to VELA Tour publicly displaying tournament-related competitive information.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Player Name
- Player Profile
- Hometown / Residence
- Handicap Index® (when applicable)
- Tournament Registration Status
- Tee Times
- Live Scoring
- Hole-by-Hole Scores
- Final Scores
- Tournament Results
- Leaderboards
- Season Standings
- VELA Tour Cup Points
- Player Rankings
- Performance Statistics
- Career Statistics
- Tournament Appearances
- Prize Money (where applicable)
- Awards
- Championship Titles
- Player Recognition
- Historical Tournament Records
VELA Tour may publish this information on:
- Official Website
- Live Leaderboards
- Player Profile Pages
- Tournament Results Pages
- Rankings Pages
- Season Standings
- Mobile Applications
- Social Media
- Email Communications
- Press Releases
- Broadcasts
- Sponsor Materials
- Historical Archives
- Any official VELA Tour publication
Tournament results, player rankings, standings, scoring history, and statistical records become part of the official historical record of VELA Tour and may remain publicly accessible indefinitely, including after a player's participation or membership ends.
VELA Tour reserves the right to correct scoring errors, rankings, points allocations, prize distributions, published statistics, or administrative mistakes if inaccuracies are discovered after publication.
Consent Applies to All VELA Tour Events
The consents and licenses described in these Terms apply to every VELA Tour event a participant registers for, now and in the future, unless VELA Tour publishes different terms for a specific event.
Assumption of Risk
Golf involves inherent risks including but not limited to being struck by golf balls, clubs, or carts, and exposure to weather and course conditions. By participating, you voluntarily assume these risks.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VELA Tour, its officers, staff, contractors, host venues, and sponsors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from event participation or use of this website. Aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the entry fee paid for the applicable event.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
